Introducing objet de vertu, a new, seasonally curated collection of small decorative objects. 

The term objet de vertu first emerged in an 1862 issue of Vanity Fair to describe an emerging trend among 19th century collectors. Bridging jewelry and lifestyle, these highly fashionable items were desired for their fine materials and workmanship. While these objects were famed for their beauty, they were also designed to be handled, opened, carried and kept close at hand. Such objects included luxurious evening clutches, powder compacts, hair combs, scent bottles, cigarette cases, decorative miniatures, and other personal accessories.

The SDJ Spring 2026 objet de vertu collection draws from a global array of treasures, with pieces dating from the late 17th to the early 20th century. Whether intended for use or display, these distinctive objects infuse any modern collection with a sense of timeless glamour.
